Tatertot Casserole

Call it a Casserole or a Hotdish, either way this is delish! This is my go to Meal Train food for families with new babies or those who need a blessing in their distress. I've been making this for decades and have always received raving reviews from family and friends.  The crowd pleaser!

There's no special order to the ingredients,  but typically we add cooked beef and onion,  then frozen mixed vegetables,  next add the sauce,  and finally arrange the frozen tater tots on top. This will make those taters crispy.

I've tried a few mixtures and this one has the best flavor for a gravy/sauce. It's canned cream of chicken,  cream of mushroom,  chicken broth, Kirkland no salt seasoning,  and salt and pepper. So so simple!
Lining these frozen tots in rows is as fancy as I get,  but you're welcome to get creative with a design, or use tater rounds or french fries for variety (or based on availability).

TATERTOT CASSEROLE
Ingredients for one 9x13 pan:

2.5 Lbs Ground beef,  cooked
1 sm onion, chopped and sauteed with beef
4 C (1 sm bag) frozen mixed vegetables
80ish Frozen Tatertots
1 can Cream of Chicken
1 can Cream of Mushroom
1.5 C Chicken Broth
3 Tbsp Seasoned Salt, divided
2 tsp Salt & Pepper, as desired

Directions:
*Preheat oven to 450°F
1. On stovetop, cook and drain the beef and onion. Add to a 9x13 glass baking dish or aluminum high side pan.
2. Add frozen veggies in a layer over the beef. Sprinkle with seasoning as desired (1 Tbsp).
3. Whisk together canned creams, broth and seasoning. Pour and spread over vegetables.  Use spatula or spoon to poke it down into the layers.
4. Arrange the tater tots on top. *
5. Bake in oven 450° for 1 hour. When done it will bubble up on sides, be golden on top and hot in the middle.

*This can be put in freezer unbaked with foil on top to make later. It will still take about an hour to bake when ready.
