Whole Family Whole30 Plan

I've spent thousands of dollars on personal trainers, nutrition plans and exercise DVDs and equipment. NONE of it has been a true help to me or my family. What is working is our transition to a Paleo/Clean Eating nutrition approach, skipping seconds, eating at home, and meal planning. This paired with staying active will be our saving grace for our health. All the money we're saving by not eating out goes towards eating healthier, fresh foods. If it comes in a box, it doesn't belong in your kitchen!
We're approaching having a household of 2 adults and 7 teens and children (0-13) in 2015. Meal planning is essential! This will streamline our shopping experience, limit food waste, be mindful of our food storage spaces, help us plan what to garden, and save money! Of course, peace of mind for me because with everyone but Dad home for every meal… knowing what to make is one less thing to think about during my day as a Mom.
Looking at us now, its obvious that we aren't in our healthy bodies. Some of us feel older than we are. Our cravings are taking over, and even in pregnancy that is not a good thing. A few years ago I found out that I am gluten sensitive. It answered so many questions for me and some of my children's mood swings, odd behavior, IBS, fatigue and skin conditions. Recently it's come to our attention that a few of us are truly unable to tolerate dairy (cows milk in particular). All these changes have helped us come to the conclusion that THE WHOLE FAMILY *NEEDS* a WHOLE 30 gut healing! After which we'll reintroduce a few items, but maintain a Whole9/Paleo nutrition plan.

Today I've been going through my Pinterest finds for good meal ideas I know my family will enjoy. Nothing too weird beyond food we already enjoy, just made differently. As we make it through the month, I'll be sure to come back and add my notes to this post! Plans by the week will be separate posts, linked below. We do most of our shopping at Costco, and a few items we'll get at our local grocer. Keep in mind this is a winter menu. I can't wait until the spring and summer garden and farmers market is ready.
